Halloween Season Is Officially Here -- "It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!" Airs Tonight On ABC

For many, it doesn't feel like Halloween season until It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! has been watched. The animated special has been entertaining audiences since it aired for the first time in 1966, and you can catch it tonight on ABC at 8 p.m. EST.

Based on Charles Schulz's beloved Peanuts comic strip, the special’s plot sees Linus hoping he'll finally get a visit from The Great Pumpkin, while Charlie Brown and the rest of the gang go to a Halloween party.
The classic was originally broadcast on CBS, but ABC obtained the rights in 2001 and has been airing the seasonal classic ever since. The 30-minute version of It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! airs tonight (10/22) on ABC. The full hour-long version will air Sunday (10/27) at 7 p.m. EST.
