I've been a Lynda Carter fan since I first saw her do that iconic Wonder Woman "twirl" when I was a little girl. So I'm happy to see the actress finally get her star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. It's long overdue!

The actress received the honor Tuesday. During the ceremony, Carter reflected on her long career in the entertainment business getting a little emotional when she thanked fans saying: "Through the ups and downs and the good times and bad you have enriched my life, and you have always been there for me."

The 65-year-old said the Wonder Woman television series gave birth to her career as a superhero and feminist icon. The show ran from 1975 to 1979.

Patty Jenkins, director of 2017's Wonder Woman movie was on hand during the ceremony. Jenkins said:

"It was Lynda’s portrayal of Wonder Woman that made me fall in love with her because her Wonder Woman made me believe that I could have whatever I wanted, and even more importantly, it made me unashamed to want it."
