The story follows the Autobots, led by Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen), as they continue their war against Megatron (Frank Welker) while an even greater threat approaches. The planet-devouring Unicron, voiced by legendary actor Orson Welles in his final film role, sets his sights on Cybertron, forcing the Autobots to embark on a desperate mission to protect their homeworld using the Matrix of Leadership before it's too late.
Part of what makes the film such an enduring fan favorite is its incredible voice cast. Alongside Cullen, Welker, and Welles, audiences will hear performances from Judd Nelson, Leonard Nimoy, Eric Idle, and Robert Stack, creating one of animation's most memorable ensemble casts.
