Huntrix Is Hitting the Stage: Netflix Announces ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ World Tour

When KPop Demon Hunters first dropped on Netflix in summer 2025, nobody could have predicted just how massive the animated musical fantasy would become. What started as a buzzy genre mashup quickly evolved into a full-blown cultural phenomenon — complete with chart-topping songs, sold-out merch, award season domination, and one very dedicated fandom ready to protect the Honmoon at all costs.

And now? Huntrix is officially taking over the real world.

Netflix announced Wednesday during its Upfront presentation that it is teaming up with AEG Presents for a KPop Demon Hunters global concert tour, giving fans the chance to experience the film in an entirely new way. According to the streamer, the upcoming production will deliver “a live experience that will bring elements of the two-time Oscar-winning film to life in spectacular ways.” Translation: prepare for synchronized choreography, cinematic visuals, dramatic lore, and enough energy to make every arena feel like the final battle against the underworld.

And yes, the internet is already collectively spiraling.

Right now, details are still pretty mysterious. Netflix hasn’t confirmed whether the tour will feature the actual vocal talent behind Huntrix — including EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami — or performers connected to the Saja Boys. But considering the cast spent the last year absolutely everywhere promoting the movie — from late-night TV appearances to Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve and even the Oscars stage — fans are definitely holding onto hope.

For now, fans can join the official waitlist while they patiently (or, realistically, impatiently) wait for cities, ticket info, and tour dates to drop later this year. And considering AEG’s history with major K-pop acts like BLACKPINK, Jennie, ATEEZ, ENHYPEN, G-Dragon, and Tomorrow X Together, expectations for the production value are already through the roof.

What makes the tour announcement especially fascinating is how uniquely broad the film’s audience has become. While K-pop fans helped launch the movie into the spotlight, KPop Demon Hunters quickly expanded beyond the genre’s typical audience and captured younger viewers, animation lovers, fantasy fans, and casual Netflix viewers alike. It wasn’t just a hit — it became the obsession of 2025.

Directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, the film follows Huntrix, a K-pop girl group secretly battling monsters from the underworld while balancing fame, friendship, and the pressure of saving humanity. The film’s emotional storytelling, addictive soundtrack, and visually stunning animation helped turn it into Netflix’s most-watched film ever, while its music dominated streaming charts around the globe.

By the time awards season rolled around, KPop Demon Hunters had fully cemented itself as a pop culture landmark. The film earned two Academy Awards and even secured the first-ever Grammy win for K-pop — a moment fans will probably never stop talking about online.

But even as one era closes, another is just beginning.

A sequel is already in development at Netflix and Sony Animation after reports first surfaced in 2025 that follow-up plans were underway. Earlier this year, Netflix officially closed new multiyear deals with Kang and Appelhans to write and direct the next chapter of the franchise. While no release date has been announced just yet, the upcoming concert tour feels like the perfect way to keep the fandom thriving while audiences wait for Huntrix to return to the screen.
