JAWS Is Returning To Theaters In 4DX For The First Time For Special 50th Anniversary Screenings

Jaws is celebrating it’s 50th anniversary this year, and Universal Pictures is celebrating the milestone with 4K re-release screenings in IMAX, RealD 3D, 4DX, and D-Box formats. Starting Labor Day Weekend (August 29), fans will be able to experience the original summer blockbuster as never before. No — you won’t feel any Amity Island sea spray, but if you catch one of the 4DX and D-Box screening’s you’ll have seats that move and vibrate while the shark moves in for the kill.

It’s the first time the iconic 1975 film is being shown in these formats, and yes, Universal knows fans need a bigger screen to celebrate 50 years of thrills and chills. Check out the special anniversary poster below!

If you prefer to enjoy this classic at home you can find Jaws, as well as it’s sequels: Jaws 2, Jaws 3-D, and Jaws: The Revenge streaming exclusively on Peacock. For those of you who collect physical media, Universal recently rereleased the film on Blu-ray and digital. 

This 50th Anniversary edition with include a never before seen documentary: “Jaws @ 50: THE DEFINITIVE STORY.” The documentary will also air on National Geographic on July 10, and stream next-day on Hulu and Disney+.
