If you’ve ever dreamed of stepping straight into Oz, Airbnb is about to make those green-tinted fantasies feel very real. Ahead of the release of Wicked: For Good (flying into theaters November 21), the platform is opening bookings for an enchanted hideaway inspired by Elphaba’s world… hosted by one of the film’s stars, Cynthia Erivo! Yes, you read that right.
Twenty fans will snag a magical day inside Elphaba’s Retreat, a secluded, Wicked-themed forest sanctuary tucked into Thousand Oaks, California, for free! And it gets even better for two lucky guests — they’ll get to spend the night in this immersive experience.

Designed to blur the line between cinematic fantasy and IRL adventure, Elphaba’s Retreat looks like it was plucked right out of the Emerald City’s outskirts with lush greenery, glowing lanterns, soft moss textures, and the kind of moody forest ambiance that makes “defying gravity” feel within reach. And yes, Cynthia Erivo—Grammy, Emmy, and Tony winner and our on-screen Elphaba—is deeply involved in the magic.

“Playing Elphaba has been one of the greatest experiences of my life—and now, I want to welcome you into her most sacred space,” Erivo shared in a statement. “ Join me in Elphaba’s sanctuary, a place that holds her truth, her courage and her sense of belonging. See where she practiced spells and plotted to uncover the Emerald City’s secrets.”
What the Experience Includes
Elphaba’s Wicked Retreat is a three hour experience taking place on December 3, 2025, and is packed with cinematic touches and nature-soaked whimsy:
A curated tea session with a tea sommelier
A personal chat with Cynthia Erivo
Time to wander the forest hideaway while listening to Wicked music and exploring props from the film
A hands-on broom-making workshop using willow, moss, poppies, and other natural materials
Forest-inspired small bites to nibble along the way
For the two guests who score the overnight stay (December 6–7, 2025), the adventure continues with a cozy, mystical night surrounded by lantern-lit pathways and Oz-green surroundings perfect for photos, journaling, or simply basking in witchy serenity.

How to Try Your Luck
Head to airbnb.com/wickedforgood to submit a request. You’ll add your guest info and answer a few short questions—like why you want to visit and how you connect to Elphaba’s story.
Airbnb will randomly pull a group of potential visitors, then narrow it down to the final 20 based on their answers. Bookings for both the daytime experience and the overnight stay are open now through November 20.
While the activation is totally free, guests will need to cover transportation to and from Thousand Oaks. But honestly? For a forest hideaway hosted by Elphaba herself… that feels like a small price for some seriously magical bragging rights.
