April 22 has been set aside for Earth Day since 1970. Over the years, it’s become not just a day to celebrate our beautiful planet, but also an opportunity to get involved in cleaning up our environment. There are lots of easy ways to do this — pick up some trash; clean up a beach; plant a tree; and you can also look at ways to make more sustainable choices with your fashion purchases.

While the fashion industry hasn't always been known for having the most eco-friendly practices, there are a number of companies that are trying to embrace a greener future without sacrificing on style. Whether it’s using repurposed material that would otherwise get thrown out to creating products that require less water and produce less carbon dioxide than conventional items there are a lot of ways you can show our planet some love with your fashion choices this Earth Day.

In this week’s Friday Five we’ve rounded up some of our favorite Earth Day-inspired fashion.

Her Universe is one of our favorite fandom labels, and this year it has an entire Earth Day collection with styles featuring some of your favorite planetary protectors from Star Wars, Marvel, Disney and more! Many of the designs use organic cotton like this Protect Our Forests Marvel tee ($33). How adorable is the Baby Groot graphic on this tee?!!!

If ABLE isn’t already on your fashion radar you’ve been missing out. In addition to the brand's sustainability in terms of providing women with economic mobility and stability, ABLE also has several measures towards environmental stability. Most of the silver in its jewelry is made of recycled materials, leather is upcycled from leather hides that would have been discarded and denim is sourced in a way to have the smallest carbon footprint possible.
