Warner Bros. is celebrating it’s 100th anniversary in 2023, and the iconic studio celebrating with a year-long slate of special events to commemoriate the milestone birthday. For the first time in eight years “Bugs Bunny at the Symphony” is returning to Los Angeles, giving fans a chance to see classic Looney Tunes clips with music played by a live orchestra.

The show is conducted by Emmy-winner George Daugherty, who co-created the show in 1991. Over the years it’s played on Broadway, at the Hollywood Bowl, at the Boston Pops and more. Now, the show will be playing at a new home — the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on July 30th.

“When we were all growing up and watching  Looney Tunes on Saturday morning, we didn’t realize we also were getting a massive lesson in classical music,” says Daugherty. “‘Bugs Bunny at the Symphony’ is the perfect opportunity to bring today’s kids to the symphony orchestra and appreciate the beauty of classical music while getting a hilarious twist from  Bugs Bunny and his cohorts. More importantly, it’s a chance for adults of all ages to rekindle their affection for these brilliant, animated shorts, and relive a truly nostalgic and magical part of their childhoods.”

The show features 16 Looney Tunes shorts projected on a giant screen, with a large symphony orchestra playing the music of Carl Stalling and Mily Franklyn live. This new version of the show includes classic shorts like: “What’s Opera, Doc?”, “The Rabbit of Seville”, “Long-Haired Hair”, as well as five new shorts — so even the biggest Looney Tunes fans will get to experience something new during the concert. Keep going for a clip of what to expect at the show!
