It's been a little over a week since we learned Olivia Newton-John passed away after a lengthy battle with breast cancer. The death of the Grammy-winning singer/actress was felt by many around the world, especially those of us who grew up watching Grease. Newton-John played Sandy in the 1978 musical starring opposite John Travolta who played Danny Zuko. The movie is widely regarded as a classic by many film fans today, and to honor her, AMC is bringing the film back to the big screens next weekend at a discounted rate, with part of the proceeds going to breast cancer research.

AMC CEO, Adam Aron announced the news on Twitter saying, “To honor the late Olivia Newton-John: many of our U.S. theatres this weekend will show her classic 1978 hit movie Grease, again on the big screen. An inexpensive $5 admission price, and through our charity AMC Cares we will donate $1 per sold ticket to breast cancer research.”

AMC is partnering with multiple breast cancer research organizations through it’s charity branch, AMC Cares. The movie will run in 135 AMC theaters nationwide, with tickets selling for the discounted rate of $5. One dollar from each ticket sold will be donated to breast cancer research.

You can visit AMC’s “Remind Me” feature to find out if one of the Grease charity screenings is scheduled at a theater near you.
