If you’re marking your virtual convention calendars for the year save some room in October. DC’s FanDome is heading back this year — this time on October 16th. Some in-person conventions are returning to the schedule this fall, including New York Comic-Con (Oct. 7-10) and “Comic Con-Special Edition” (Nov. 26-28), but DC has decided that the inagural FanDome was enough of a success that it’s worth doing again in 2021.

So far there aren’t many details on what is planned for this year’s FanDome, or whether DC will skip New York Comic Con and “Comic Con Special Edition” to save all of it’s major announcements for it’s own virtual convention.

This year’s FanDome will take place after The Suicide Squad has premiered on HBO Max and in theaters (on Aug. 6), but fans will likely get updates on Black Adam and The Batman, which are both scheduled to debut next year.

According to DC, last year’s FanDome got more than 22 million views across 220 countries and territories. The event, which took place over the course of two days (Aug. 22 and Sept. 12), gave fans their first look at big movie trailers as well as offering viewers star-studded panels; and updates on various DC movies, games, shows, and comics, FanDome offered family-focused programming and a variety of exclusive merch.
