Chanel Launches New App That's Like Shazam, For Lipstick

Miss those pre-COVID days of being able to try on a lipstick before you buy it? Ever look at the color of something hanging in your closet and think, “this would make a great lipstick color?” Chanel has just launched a new app to help you do both.
It’s called Chanel Lipscanner, and it’s the brand’s newest makeup app that uses AI technology to find the closest Chanel lipstick shade to match the color you’re looking for. All you have to do is point and click, taking a picture of anything you see — whether it’s something from your everyday life, social media, magazines, or something hanging in your closet. Then, the app will match the color with the closet Chanel lipstick shade in their 400 color library. How cool is that!???

After the app finds the closet match to the color you’re looking for you can virtually try on that shade to see if you like it before you add it to your cart on the Chanel website. Chanel Lipscanner is a collaboration between CX Lab and the brand’s Make-Up Creation Studio. It’s available to download for free now on the Apple store.
