Barbie Gets The TOP GUN MAVERICK Treatment

We’ve still got awhile to wait until we get to see Top Gun: Maverick on the big screens. The highly-anticipated (and several time post-poned) sequel to 1986’s Top Gun is scheduled to be released on May 27, 2022. But Mattel has something to tide fans over while they wait — a new special edition Barbie collector’s doll based on the character “Phoenix” (played by Monica Barbaro), a pilot trainee who will appear in the upcoming film.

The “Phoenix” Barbie ($40) doll shows the character in her green, pilot trainee flightsuit. It features lots of little details like her name, dog tags, and squadron patch. The doll also comes with a set of aviator sunglasses, a watch, and a red and black helmet with her call sign on the front.
