Mattel Adds New Dolls To It's Star Wars™ x Barbie® Collection

Mattel is expanding it’s Star Wars Collection, and the glam Force is seriously strong with all four of these new Barbies! The second wave of dolls take inspiration from characters spanning the entire Star Wars franchise — Rey, C3-PO, Imperial Stormtroopers, and everyone’s favorite co-pilot, Chewbacca. Take a look!

You might remember the initial wave of dolls that launched the collection last year, which featured dolls inspired by Princess Leia, Darth Vader, and R2-D2. Just like those dolls (which are still available to shop), the four new dolls take design inspiration from the films’s original concept art, and re-imagines them through the “Barbie™ high-fashion filter” giving each of them a runway-ready silhouette.
"The new series of dolls needed to maintain the same feeling as the first series, but also offer enough new details and surprises to keep fans excited about the new additions," said Robert Best, Senior Director of Barbie® Design. "For this second series, I really wanted to push the fashion elements even further. There are amazing shoe designs, great accessories and jewelry that would be at home in a runway show or a high fashion editorial photo shoot.”
I don’t know about you, but I would love to wear any of these looks. I’m sure there are already a few fashionistas out there working on their own version of these designs at home to wear to Galaxy’s Edge when the Disney Parks re-open.
Each doll is currently available for pre-order now, with shipping expected on June 12th. You can find the Rey, Stormtrooper, and C3-PO dolls on Barbie.com, Entertainment Earth, and Amazon.com for $100. The Chewbacca doll is available exclusively on Barbie.com for $150.
Each will arrive in special designed packaging, which includes a Certificate of Authenticity and a Star Wars™-themed doll stand for collectors who like to display their dolls out of the box.
