Last-Minute Halloween Costume Ideas... But Make it Fashion!
You've done it again. You’ve waited until the last-minute to figure out something to wear, and now that it’s Halloween and you’ve got some parties to hit tonight you’re panicking. Sound familiar?
I love Halloween. For those of you who already know me, you know I am big into costumes. Let’s just say I’ve worn my fair share over the years. But as much as part of me is really into costumes, another part hates the idea of buying something I’m only going to wear once — especially for a costume.
I’m going to let you in on a little secret. There are probably a lot of possibilities hanging in your closet right now that with a few simple accessories you can transform into a last-minute Halloween costume. Do you have a black suit and white shirt? James Bond. An Agent of Shield. A Mafia Don. Vinnie or Mia from Pulp Fiction. The Blues Brothers. ALL possible with a pair of black pants, a black blazer, a white shirt and a few accessories.
I loved the original Men in Black back in the day so I decided to channel my inner Agent J with a Banana Republic blazer, pants, and shirt I already had in my closet and a black tie I borrowed from a friend. Here’s a similar tie you can find right now at Target.
Chris Hemsworth would’ve been a perfect accessory to tie the look together, but since he wasn’t available on such short notice I had to settle for some black pumps and sunglasses I already had to finish the look. Similar shoes here and here. Shades here and here.

If you don’t already have a a black suit it is such a versatile wardrobe staple that you’ll wear over and over again. So if you don’t already have one buying one isn’t a bad idea. I’m a big Banana Republic junkie because I’m a fan of their “tall” sizing options, but I also like this blazer from Macy’s | more pants here and here | similar shirts here and here | this travel toothbrush case is the perfect Neuralizer!
